Hi there! I know I said I was off 'til Monday, but as I was taking my leisurely "stroll" through all my favorite blogs, I suddenly remembered - I have pictures from Cheyenne's Birthday party from last year! Yes, almost a year later (her birthday is July 12th) I am posting the pictures from her first birthday party (shame on me). So I just wanted to share them because I SLAVED over this party. Nothing went untouched. I was very meticulous about every little detail. Seriously. I even made a 12 layer cake in honor of each month. And a ruffle cake....and some cupcakes. It was fun and I loved it! But this year...let's just say we're going to have a nice, quiet, relaxing time with the family. Not 50 people! Here are the photos :) enjoy!
I know the picture quality isn't necessarily wonderful, but it is what it is :P I had a lot of fun doing it and (I won't say I "can't wait" because Lord knows I can :)) I look forward to throwing many more girly parties for her when she's older and hopefully can appreciate it more :) Oh, and if anyone is interested in the recipe for the twelve-layer cake, you can find it here :) HAPPY WEEKEND!
Ellie,

Wow! I can't believe you made that cake! It's the most amazing thing I think I've ever seen... Your party looks like it was great, I can tell you put in a ton of time on it. Thanks for sharing!

Heather, I wrote back on your blog - again, THANK YOU :) I am happy like a little school girl haha
ReplyDeleteMelissa, thank you! It was an all day affair but so worth it when I cut into it and saw all those beautiful layers :P And I'm glad you enjoyed it :D People who aren't into this stuff just look at me like, "Wow you're..uh..you're kinda weird" haha but people like you appreciate it and that feels great ^_^ Thank you!
loovely party! I especially like the hanging lanterns with the butterflies - so sweet. I did a party for my younger brother and it was all about cars (boys will be boys), but seeing your decorations makes me want to decorate for a girls party!
ReplyDeleteThank you noella! The hanging lanterns were such a steal too - a pack of two for a buck at a garage sale - and then I hot glued scrapbook paper butterflies to them :)
ReplyDeleteI can believe it was an all day affair making that cake! I can't imagine everyone's faces when they saw it... they were probably in awe of you! A very special cake for a very special event. :-) I forgot to mention I loved the little touch of adding the patterned paper to the mustard bottle. Great details...
ReplyDeleteHaha yea the best was my grandma (who doesn't speak English) - she was like, "Ay que rico!!!! *unknown rambling gibberish that I hope meant something good*" lol. And you know that waiting period just before the party where pretty much everything is done but you're so excited you can't sit down? Yeah, that was me. I walked around with a stack of scrapbook paper, scissors and tape, sticking it on anything and everything in sight like some OCD freak haha!
